1. Personal data we collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, company name, billing and shipping addresses, and the content of your quote requests, orders and messages.
We also collect technical data required to operate the site: IP address, browser type, pages visited and order logs.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used to: process orders and quote requests, issue invoices and commercial documents, arrange delivery, communicate about your orders, manage your customer account, meet our accounting and tax obligations, and improve our site and services.
We do not use your data for marketing without your consent, and we never sell your personal information.
3. Payments processed by Stripe
Online payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ControlParts Global never stores your full card numbers: they are entered directly into Stripe's secure interface.
Stripe receives the information needed to process the payment (amount, currency, order description, billing address) under its own privacy policy. We only keep the transaction references required for accounting, refunds and dispute handling.
4. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access control to our administration system, and database-level security rules restricting access to authorized personnel only.
No method of transmission or storage is completely infallible, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we commit to acting quickly in the event of an incident.
5. Cookies
The site uses cookies and browser local storage to: remember your preferred language and currency, keep your cart contents, and maintain your login session.
These cookies are required for the store to function. You may disable them in your browser, but some features (cart, account, payment) may stop working correctly.
6. Sharing with third parties
We only share the data strictly necessary with: our payment providers (Stripe) to process transactions and refunds; carriers and shipping services to deliver your orders; and our technical service providers (hosting, database, transactional email) who process data on our instructions.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data while your account is active. Order, invoice and payment data is retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax laws in Québec and Canada.
Quote requests and messages are kept as long as needed to manage our business relationship.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, request its correction, request its deletion (subject to our legal retention obligations), and withdraw consent to non-essential communications.
